Baker-Polito Administration Awards $250,000 for Massachusetts Digital Health Innovation Labs

June 13, 2017

Boston – June 13, 2017 – The Baker-Polito Administration today awarded $250,000 to Digital Health Innovation Labs in the Massachusetts Digital Health Initiative, a second round of funding that will provide $170,000 to support the PULSE@MassChallenge digital health hub in Boston and $80,000 for Baystate Health’s TechSpring technology innovation center in Springfield. Both organizations received previous state funding through the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative’s (MassTech) eHealth Institute last year and provide support for digital health start-ups, including mentoring, strategic partner matching, targeted education, co-working spaces, start-up accelerators, and other programming.

Kyruus CEO Shares Perspective on Digital Health in Massachusetts

MeHI Awards $3 Million to Enhance Coordination Among Community Healthcare Providers & Improve Patient Care

BROCKTON, MASS. – During an event at Brockton Neighborhood Health Center today, MeHI, the Massachusetts eHealth Institute at MassTech, announced $3,038,000 in grants to drive community-level collaboration among healthcare providers using innovative technologies. The grants were made through MeHI’s Connected Communities Implementation Grant program, a statewide effort which seeks to enhance collaboration and communication among healthcare providers within a community through the use of innovative technologies, such as electronic health records and health information exchanges.

Over $1.3 Million in Grants Awarded to Massachusetts Behavioral Health Providers for Technology Adoption Efforts

WESTBOROUGH, MA – December 21, 2015 – MeHI, the Massachusetts eHealth Institute at MassTech, has awarded over $1.3 million in grants to 25 behavioral health providers to advance their use of health information technology, or Health IT, designed to improve patient care, reduce healthcare costs, and ensure appropriate privacy and security protection of behavioral health patient data. The awards were made as part of MeHI’s eQuality Incentive Program (eQIP), an initiative that provides grants for critical technology enhancements to both behavioral health and long-term/post-acute care organizations. The behavioral health grantees, selected in two funding rounds, manage a total of 179 facilities in 64 cities and towns across Massachusetts.

MeHI Awards Nearly $1 Million to Fifteen Long-Term Post-Acute Care

WESTBOROUGH, MA – October 22, 2015 – MeHI, the Massachusetts eHealth Institute at MassTech, has announced the first round of long-term and post-acute care (LTPAC) grantees from the eQuality Incentive Program (eQIP). MeHI awarded nearly $1 million in grants to 15 post-acute care organizations that oversee 44 facilities and 6,110 patient beds across Massachusetts*. Under the eQIP program, MeHI’s funds will help these Massachusetts facilities invest in innovative health information technologies to improve patient care through enhanced care coordination and efficient care transitions.

Massachusetts Behavioral Health Providers to Receive Nearly $1 Million to Advance Health IT Capabilities

WESTBOROUGH, MA – April 9, 2015 – MeHI, the Massachusetts eHealth Institute at MassTech, has announced the first round of grantees from the eQuality Incentive Program (eQIP) for behavioral health providers located across the Commonwealth. MeHI has awarded grants to 18 non-profits across the Commonwealth, which will total nearly $1 million if the awardees reach each of the program milestones. The funds will help these Massachusetts practices invest in innovative health information technologies, or health IT, to improve patient care and reduce healthcare costs, while ensuring appropriate privacy and security of behavioral health patient data.
