The Massachusetts eHealth Institute (MeHI) is the state’s entity for health care innovation, technology and competiveness. Established by an act of the Massachusetts Legislature, MeHI is responsible for advancing the dissemination of health information technology across the commonwealth, including the deployment of electronic health records systems in all health care provider settings that are networked through a statewide health information exchange.
As a result of health care reform and statewide deployment and adoption of Health IT, Massachusetts will be able to demonstrate measurable improvements in health care costs, quality, safety and efficiency.
MeHI will lead the effort of widespread implementation and adoption of electronic health records (EHR) to provide access to accurate clinical information to providers at the point of care and to patients.
