The curriculums for both the Master’s and Certificate programs focus on the principles of information management and bridge the gap between professionals providing clinical care and those managing information systems. Courses cover the impact of hardware and software, quality information retrieval, and use in providing effective care. Students learn how to assist in the selection, management, and evaluation of health care information systems with an emphasis on security, regulation and accreditation, and ethics in confidentiality and privacy practices. Classes include Computing, Systems, Development, Project Management, Information Life Cycles, and a Field Work requirement.
Applicants should be healthcare professionals (clinicians, administrators, researchers, or educators) with a Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 3-5 years of work experience in the healthcare industries. They should be interested in designing, implementing, managing, and evaluating healthcare information systems.
Cambridge College offers small, student-centered classes that follow an adult learning model that places high value on a student’s professional experience and uses it to enhance a student’s academic experience in the classroom. Our faculty consists of industry practitioners who use their own experiences to give students a real-world understanding of how to apply what they are learning to their professional lives.
