The Graduate Certificate in Health Informatics is designed to introduce health care providers to the informatics industry; its current state of the art, systems and management. Students will learn essential competencies needed to participate in the strategic leadership of information systems and explore the industry through a self-designed practice mentorship. The certificate is comprised of four, three-credit courses:

NU 710 Informatics in Health Care
HP 635 Health Information Systems
HP 638 Strategic Leadership in Health Informatics
HP 641 Information Systems Mentorship

Certificate coursework will prepare all students to sit for the certification exam given by the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) and nurses to sit for the certification exam given by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (AACN).
